Huawei have enjoyed a successful 2018 increasing their market share from 2.7% to 13.7% in the UK. The increase is suggested to be from the partnership with Argos & the success and good reviews of the P20 Pro. (Pritchard, 2018).

Following the rise, Huawei have released their latest flagship smartphone – the ‘Huawei Mate 20 Pro’. The device is available in black, , twilight and emerald green and is equipped with Android 9.0 (Pie) operating system.

The Mate 20 Pro is available with internal memory of 256GB and 8 RAM or 128GB & 6GB RAM,  is 6.39 inches with a AMOLED capacitive touch screen and weighs 189g (GSM Arena, n.d.).

The device offers impressive AI – using the main camera users can translate foreign text, scan items to find prices online & identify objects from landmarks to find out further information or food to find out nutritional information.

The Mate 20 Pro is equipped with a huge 4,200 mAh battery allowing a long-lasting usage. The Huawei boasts an impressive 70% charge in 30 minutes using 40W Huawei SuperCharge and also offers ‘wireless reserve charging’ allowing users to charge other Qi Wireless devices cable free.

Like the P20 Pro, the Mate 20 Pro offers an incredible camera specification. The device has a Leice Triple Camera which is designed to cope with all different scenarios. Huawei claim “the 40 MP main RGB lens captures great details in everyday photos, while the 8 MP telephoto lens will focus on your distant shorts and the whole new 20 MP Leica Ultra Wide Angle Lens is perfect for the landscape photos and macro shots” (Huawei, n.d.) Further to this, the device offers Night Mode that shoots high-qualiy photos when in low-light.
